Jackie Atkins attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA where she received a B.A.. in Art History. After college she enrolled in Parson’s School of Design where she studied fashion design. In 1996 she decided to combine her love of movies with fashion and pursue a career as a costume designer in film. She interned for production companies in the wardrobe department and for the next 5 years worked as a costume designer on numerous independent films, most notably on acclaimed writer/director Hal Hartley’s film “Henry Fool” starring Parker Posey. In 2001 she moved to LA and continued to work as a wardrobe stylist and designer for television, commercials and films. In 2004 she was the costume designer for the award winning short “Nobody’s Perfect”  directed by Hank Azaria starring Ellen Pompeo, Maria Bello and Sarah Silverman. In 2004 she decided to move back to NYC and open a boutique called Plum, located on Ludlow Street in the heart of the Lower East Side. Her boutique carried edgy fashion- forward women’s contemporary collections and was featured in countless print and web publications like In Style, Lucky , & Dailycandy.com.  After a successful 6 year run, she decided to close the shop and focus primarily on what she loves doing most- styling and designing for commercials, television and film.  Once again residing in LA, she is currently the host stylist and costume designer for NBC's "American Ninja Warrior, NBC's "Hollywood Game Night" and the Netflix competition series "Ultimate Beastmaster".
